Inter Miami Signs Legendary Striker Luis Suarez to New Contract

(MENAFN) Inter Miami has secured veteran Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez for an additional campaign, the MLS franchise announced Wednesday.

Suarez has delivered 42 goals and contributed 29 assists across 87 matches in all competitions since arriving at Miami via free transfer in January 2024.

The 38-year-old forward, whose prior agreement was set to lapse on December 31, featured in 50 fixtures during 2025, netting 17 goals while guiding the squad to its inaugural MLS Cup championship.

"Inter Miami has signed legendary striker Luis Suarez to a new contract through the 2026 Major League Soccer (MLS) season," a statement on the Florida-based club's website confirmed.

"The striker's vast experience and leadership were crucial as Inter Miami clinched ... the Eastern Conference championship and the MLS Cup," the announcement continued.

Suarez's two-decade professional journey has encompassed stints with Ajax, Liverpool, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid, alongside other elite clubs. He stands as Uruguay's all-time top scorer, amassing 69 goals from 143 international caps.
